Elizabeth Allison, Self Portrait

Elizabeth Allison is a New York based contemporary artist whose work is often inspired by life in New York and its surrounding region.

While her expressive landscape paintings chase the light at dusk and dawn, her portraits and still life capture the quietness and intimacy of the moment. Using deconstructed form, Allison's sculptures explore the fragmentation of the human condition.

Allison is the recipient of numerous awards including the Raluca Popescu Memorial Scholarship, Nessa Cohen Grant, Elizabeth Greenshields Grant and Chashama Studio Residency. Public works include: a Model to Monument Participant and a monumental Sculpture in Riverside Park South.

She is also an inspiring educator who has taught at the City College, Guttman Community College, Arts Students League of New York and The New York School of Arts.
